Driver pleads no contest in fatal bicycle accident

I’d hate to bring up some negative news, but there is a positive in this, justice prevailed. But what get’s me is the low fine of $558 that the driver had to pay for the incident. I mean seriously, a little girl died! I would think she’s worth more than a few bills.

“ROCKLEDGE – Lydia Wright, the 44-year-old driver who hit two girls as they tried to ride their bikes across Barton Boulevard in March, pleaded no contest in traffic court last week to failing to obey a traffic signal.

Guadalupe Bonilla, 9, died from head injuries and her 10-year-old cousin, Adilene Herrera, suffered a broken leg. The girls were on their way to Golfview Elementary School.”
