Staying fit in one of the most fitness-friendly areas

OVER THE PAST few years, the topics of obesity and overweight have dominated headlines, and most of the coverage is framed negatively: “Hey America, the government reports that you’re fat and lazy and, wait, this just in: At this very moment, you are getting fatter and lazier! Now get out there and move!”

While the mainstream media coverage of exercise and obesity may inform us, it doesn’t exactly inspire us. No doubt, there are large hordes of Americans making god-awful diet and exercise choices. For example, the average American is now exercising 22 minutes a week (yes, a week) and sales of Hardee’s 1420-calorie belly-bulging Monster Burger are up 400 percent.

But what about the good souls – those people who are working hard each day to stay in shape?
