Park PCS-1 Workstand and BK-2 Rollup Workshop review

by Moe

We received a Park PCS-1 work-stand and a BK-2 rollup workshop from Park Tools to review.

The PCS-1 stand was very easy to put together, I only needed a hex wrench and pliers to put it together. The stand is very sturdy, and very adjustable. Here are the specs of the PCS-1:

Workstand

” Height adjustment from 54-inches to 72-inches (1.4m to 1.8m)
” A quick-adjusting 100-1C clamp that fits frame tubes up to 1-5/8″ (41mm).
” Infinite 360 degree rotation for securing bike at a variety of angles.
” Quality construction for years of trouble-free use.
” Flip handle makes it easy to secure the angle of the bike.
” Tapered rotational locking system.
” Folds easily for storage.
” Competitively priced.
” Strong, sturdy, and attractive.
” Constructed of heavy steel tubing and powder coated for a long lasting finish.
” Rubber feet are adjustable for uneven floors.
” For easy storage, simply lift the stand and the legs fold together.
” The stand will accept the Extreme Range clamp 100-5X

Workstand

What I liked: I liked the sturdiness, the ease of set-up, ease of use and the adjustability.

What I didn’t like: This stand is great; I didn’t find anything I didn’t like.

Recommendation: I will definitely recommend this stand to an avid home wrench.

The BK-2 Rollup Workshop is a set of the most common tools of the bike trade; it comes with a roll-up pouch that you can take it anywhere. The tool kit contains the following:

Tools
” Hex Wrench Set 1.5mm to 6mm AWS-10
” Cartridge Bottom Bracket Tool BBT-2
” 8 and 10mm Open End Wrench CBW-1
” 9 and 11mm Open End Wrench CBW-4
” Cable Cutter CN-10
” Screw Type Chain Tool CT-5
” Crank Puller and 14mm socket CWP-6
” Double Ended Cone Wrench, 13mm/14mm DCW-1
” Double Ended Cone Wrench, 15mm/16mm DCW-2
” Cassette Lockring Tool for Shimano FR-5
” Pre-Glued Patch Kit GP-2
” GearClean Brush GSC-1
” 32 Headset Wrench and 36mm Headset Wrench HCW-15
” 15mm Pedal wrench / Chain Whip HCW-16
” Triple Spoke Wrench SW-7
” Tire Levers TL-1

Tools
What I liked: The tool kit comes with the most useful tools and the tools are of great quality. The pouch is a great organizer and it keeps the tools from getting misplaced. I can roll the pouch and take it with me anywhere.

What I didn’t like: Tools are awesome, there’s nothing I didn’t like.

Recommendation: I highly recommend this kit for the rider/wrench that’s always on the go. The kit is small and light enough that if you wish to take this pouch on a back pack or rear rack is a great option.

Did you ever have a problem with stability when there wasn’t a bike attached? It appears like it could fall over easy that way.
