The year in review

by Richard Masoner

2005 was a great year for me. I was fortunate to become a writer/tester for Commute By Bike thanks to Tim Grahl and RL Policar, built 2 bikes from scratch and surpassed my cycling goals.

I got to test ride bikes from the ‘little companies’ like IBEX, Woodstock, Sun Bicycles, Xootr, Giatex and Fezzari. Owning bikes from the major companies I was pleasantly surprised on the quality of all these bikes. I also got to test lights and accesories from PrincentonTec, Inertia Designs, Genuine Innovations, Rec Rac, TopLine Mfg, Tifosi and Finish Line. I want to thank all of these partners for providing their products and submitting themselves to our unbiased point of views and recommendations.

This year I was also fortunate to have found the courage to commute to work by bicycle, I rode a century and I smashed my goal of riding 1000 miles for the year by riding a total of 1605 miles.

We also found John LaPierre, a dedicated bike commuter, a great writer and most of all, a great inspiration. Thanks John for Joining Commute By Bike.

I’m looking forward to 2006, it should be a promising year for Commute By Bike and cycling in general.

So to all of you, Happy New year !!!
