Intentions… That road goes two ways
by j jIn the past I’ve been successful when I’ve shared my goals or resolutions. It helps motivate me. If no one knows my goals, no one knows if I succeed or fail. Safe plan, but not very motivating. Cycling is all about motive force, and I need it bad. I wrote this little acrostic while I was thinking about how to get motivated and make my intentions become reality.
So… all that now said, and following RL’s example, I guess I have to spill my guts too. Here are two ‘biggies’ on my resolution list for 2006
- Lose 50 pounds
- Ride at least 3500 miles
I’ve lost 100 pounds in the last 15 months. In the last 3 months, I’ve put 15 back on. I’m putting the brakes on that right now. Like RL, I’ll post my updates. Maybe we should make a tracking page or something. Anyone interested in joining us? It takes guts – something I want less of.

Although losing about 10 lbs would help me out, it is not in my list of ‘resolutions’. Now, riding 3500 miles… I was able to log 1600 miles last year, logging 3500 would definitely be a challenge!!! I’ll get back to you on that.
DANG! 3500 miles, that’s like an oil change! Man, thats awesome JJ.
