The risk of riding to work.

by Moe

One of the biggest excuses for not riding to work is ‘Riding in is traffic too dangerous’. Today I mounted my trusty ‘Stem-cam’ and took a few pictures of my ride to work. Keep in mind that I ride 20 miles round trip and only 2 miles are on the river trail. The other 18 miles are on the streets.

Even though there was heavy traffic on Florence Ave, it is wide enough for me to ride comfortably. Foster Rd is narrower, but there’s not much traffic.

Careful planning and experimenting different routes is the key to ride a safe route. Yes, there is risk involved, but riding safely and obeying the traffic laws will get you home safe.
