Two Things I Hate

by RL Policar

There are two things I can’t stand in this world…

1. Dog Poop! Oh man I HATE DOG POOP! I hate it hate it hate it! I hate seeing it, smelling it and especially stepping in it!

Dookie

2. Flat tires. Nothing gets me like a flat tire. Its the ultimate joy killer.

this sucks too!

Any suggestions on preventing flats? I’ve seen Stan’s No Tubes, but that thing is about $50. What about those tire liners that supposedly stop thorns from penetrating. Slime works pretty good, but can add up with use.

Funny that you mention this today, RL – I was putting together an entry about a couple products that I rely heavily on. One was my tires – Schwalbe Big Apples, fat slicks, kevlar belted. I’m usually skeptical of techy gimmicks, but while washing down the bike yesterday, I found a small crescent cut in the middle of my rear tire with a foreign body lodged in the crevice – a small shard of glass. Damn thing never made it’s way to the tube. Could be luck, but it could be the kevlar belting, considering I haven’t had one flat with those tires.

    Kevlar…now that’s a great idea!

I think Slime is worth the money. I’ve just bought a bottle at Wally World for $5.76. The bottle is sufficient for 2 tires, it beats patching and buying new tubes.

Try VaPooRize for the dog poop. As for the flats, they seem to come at the worst time. Does that slime work the same way as fixaflat? And does it give your tries a wobbly feeling after using it?

  5. Moe says:

Slime is sort of like fixaflat, except that you put the slime before you get a flat. It does not give you a wobbly feeling but if you are a weight weenie, it will add some weight to your tires.
