Good review. Came across this one while researching the Kona Smoke. According to the KHS dealer locator, the only place in town is the LBS that I like the most (which just happens to be the only Kona dealer in the state of OK). Hope this is accurate, so that I'll be able to compare the two at the same time over the same route. I really like the price point of both sub $400 :)!

My husband is about to by the KHS Urban X but I'm wondering what frame size to get him. He's 6'3". An XL? or would L work? Thanks.

KHS has a history in sucessful marriages of bike types. This isn't the first "every bike" they've put together.
I saw one in the reknowned OPEN ROAD bike shop in Pasadena. I will have to order the larger size but I'm just heading out to straddle the medium they have in stock. I've looked at tons of bikes lately but I keep coming back to this KHS. It may be a less expensive option for those who like the styling of a Cannondale FiftyFifty or the Novara Transfer though these bikes have an internal 7 speed. That to me is actual a downside. That's why the KHS is the grooviest alternative with great potential. Thanks

It's funny you say that. The other day I emailed one of my local TV channels about being tired of hearing about the 'Marvels' of Hybrid cars. I got some silly response from an intern.

I've been called 'crazy in the head' for having a perfectly running car and instead choosing to ride my bike to work. But if you think about it, paying $3.00 a gallon, who is really crazy in the head?

Looks great to me - and a good price. For commuting, it really seems perfect. I like my Cypress LX just fine, but I had to modify it for commuting, the Urban is ready to go. Tires are easy enough to change, and I have to say, the Continental Country Roads I put on the Woodstock are a great all-around tire.

Thanks for the good write-up - it will be interesting to see how it fares over some time, especially the saddle. :-)

I can't wait for the full review. I just pointed this bike out to a friend who was complaining about the high price of new bikes.
