Gnats!

by Randy Policar

Of all the flying pests, gnats might be the most annoying. Though harmless, they hover and buzz around your head and drive you crazy. It never seems to be just one gnat. They always travel by the hundreds. Depending on the time of year and the time of day you ride, encountering gnats is inevitable. A face full of gnats is the last thing I want from a bike ride. Is it possible to avoid these buggers?

We don’t have gnats in this city. No mosquitoes, either.

You know, now that I look at the word, doesn’t ‘mosquito’ look like a Spanish word meaning ‘tiny mosque’?

  2. Travis says:

Here we have wasps… BIG wasps. I had one on my sandwich the size of my pinkie today.

Funny you mention gnats, they were out in force today in L.A. as well. There’s only one thing you can do: keep your mouth closed. (I learned it the hard way)
