Bicycle Film Festival

The Bicycle Film Festival is in my town this weekend, beginning tonight with the headliner B.I.K.E.: a documentary about the Black Label Bicycle Club. The festival is touring the world, and the next stop is Los Angeles towards the end of June. More info is available at the site. The featured films vary from short animations to full length documentaries, all on the subject of bicycles and bike culture. There are different programs with different topics, ranging from fixed-gear fanatics in San Francisco to vintage French and British racing films from the 60′s.

I haven’t seen any of the films yet, so I don’t know if there are any on the topic of commuting, but commuting is part of bike culture, and bike awareness benefits commuters. One feature of the festival in New York is valet parking for bicycles at all screenings. I don’t know if they’ll do the same for you Los Angelenos.
