i got one of these bad boys yesterday afternoon and put about 40 miles on the freewheel side. i noticed a knocking in the freewheel, which the shop said is normal sometimes. i'm gonna make them replace it anyway cause that's no way to ride on a brand spanking new bike! at any rate, it's a nice ride and a nice second bike to have in the commuter fleet! just tried out the fixed gear side of the wheel and heard no knocking at all, so i guess i'll leave a little earlier for work tomorrow and cruise in on the new beauty. for anyone considering this bike as a first time commuter and doesn't live where it's terribly hilly, i'm here to tell you that it's well worth the money. the only down side is that the tires aren't Kevlar lined, but heck, one can't expect champagne on a beer budget, right?? be sure to buy a patch kit, a small pump or some air, and carry a tire lever and some small wrenches to get at that rear wheel. trust me: you'll definitely end up with a flat if you ride back and forth to work every day! happy riding and don't get hit by a car, a

I saw this cool bike at a dealer in Santa Cruz.. Pretty cool bike indeed-- Good to see Redline sending out bikes to have you guys test! Fixed gear is a great "feature" to see coming back into off-the-shelf bikes

That's a sharp looking bike! It's so cool how you could easily change it from a fixed gear to a free-wheel.

:-O

Wow. I've been considering a fixed gear for commuting for a while now, primarily the Raleigh Rush Hour. But this looks awesome! I can't wait to hear more about it.
