Flying Roadie
by Randy Policar
I was driving home from the grocery store and a roadie past me at the light. This guy was flying! For about five miles I tried to catch up to him but with all the traffic and all the lights I couldn’t keep up. I felt envious and made me want to get on my bike and go for a ride.

One time I was riding the Corrida on the way home and this punk kept drafting behind me. So I started to speed up…all the way up to 32 mph for about 2 miles…the sucka was still on my tail!
I couldn’t bust him loose. He had a road bike too. Road bikes can really help speed up your commute.
Great photo. Here in Chicago there are a bunch of older guys who roll – I’ve been mulling over the idea of interviewing my blog, Bicycle Diaries (http://bicycle-diaries.blogspot.com/). Your photo inspired me.
May I use it as the intro for my interviews?
I got to you thru Windy City Biker, a neighbor up in Winnetka – Love your site; I’m going to post the url on my site.
