Have you seen my bike?

by RL Policar

No its that not I’ve lost my bike or had it stolen, its sitting in my garage that’s where its been. I haven’t been able to ride at all to work in the past few weeks, heck perhaps the past month.

Different commitments in the morning or the evening as well as business meetings have prevented me from riding at all. So yeah, I’m a bit bummed for not being able to save money on gas by commuting by bicycle or relieve stress and even come home happier…

I swear, every time I get on the freeway and by the time I get home an hour later , I always say….”I could have ridden my bike in about the same amount of time!”

    Boo! No excuses!

I feel your pain. I changed jobs 3 weeks ago. I actually work only 1/2 a mile from my office, but I end up going all over the place throughout the day. I’ve been averaging about 50 miles per day so far.

So, the commuting by bike has ended, except for the days where I know I won’t be going to far out of the way. Unfortunately, as an on-call IT guy, I don’t know when those days will ever happen.

Any ideas for how a fella can keep riding without commuting?

    Chris,

One thing you can do is leave your car at work and just ride your bike to and from the office. That way if you have appointments you can still ride your bike to the office then hop in your car and drive to the meetings. Then at the end of the day, you can ride your bike home.

I used to be an IT guy, drove about 500-700 miles a week…

Another alternative is to ride on the weekends. In my area there are tons of mtn bike trails. So I always go out with some buddies and hit the trails.
