One thing you can do is leave your car at work and just ride your bike to and from the office. That way if you have appointments you can still ride your bike to the office then hop in your car and drive to the meetings. Then at the end of the day, you can ride your bike home.

I used to be an IT guy, drove about 500-700 miles a week...

Another alternative is to ride on the weekends. In my area there are tons of mtn bike trails. So I always go out with some buddies and hit the trails.</description>

		<description>I feel your pain.   I changed jobs 3 weeks ago.   I actually work only 1/2 a mile from my office, but I end up going all over the place throughout the day.   I&#039;ve been averaging about 50 miles per day so far.   

So, the commuting by bike has ended, except for the days where I know I won&#039;t be going to far out of the way.   Unfortunately, as an on-call IT guy, I don&#039;t know when those days will ever happen.

Any ideas for how a fella can keep riding without commuting?</description>
