UCO’s

by Warren T

…as in Unidentified Cycling Objects.

What?

I came across this on TechEBlog this morning and thought it was too good to not pass on. Now, I’m all for being as visible as possible on the road … but this is a bit much. I neither want or need that much attention. Has anyone been to Japan and seen these? I’ve got to believe they’re selling ice-cream out of them or something.

That’s awesome. Reminds me that I need more flashing lights on my commuter.

Here’s a link to photos of these things that I came across a while back.

Yup, they are called dekochari or decorated bicycle. There are a lot of interesting fads here in Japan and I guess that was just one of them.
