The Illinois House voted 109-3 today to override the amendatory veto, meaning the bill as originally passed by the General Assembly stands!

The amendatory veto has been placed on the Illinois House calendar for Wednesday, Oct. 10, according to the Illinois General Assembly's Web site.

I do expect the House to override, given that it voted 113-2 to approve the original bill and given that House members on both sides of the aisle aren't too fond of the governor right now because of the ongoing fight over the state budget.

Still, it probably wouldn't hurt to let your legislator know that you're in favor of the Complete Streets bill.
