Bike Trailer Blog Site Redesign

by Josh Lipton

As many of you may have noticed, we haven’t been very prolific as of late. We ran into some major issues with our bike trailer photos and had to change hosting. As we were looking into fixing the problem, we realized a site redesign and platform reevaluation might be in order.

As a result of all of this, we have decided to move our platform from Blogger to a WordPress custom install. While Blogger has been good to us, it didn’t offer the flexibility we needed to move forward.

I am pleased to announce that the site redesign is done and we will be turning it live live this afternoon (March 23, 2008). We have made every care that old pages are still pointing to the correct places and our feedburner feed should stay the same. Please note: if you are currently feeding directly to our atom.xml feed, you will have to update to http://feeds.feedburner.com/BikeTrailerBlog.

We did run into one minor hitch with importing the comments, some seem to have been lost and all of the timestamps were changed to the date of the import. We apologize for this and any other bugs that might occur. Please let us know if you find any problems or bugs and we will try to fix them right away.

Please come take a look at the new site and let us know what you think. We are always happy to hear your feedback!

    Hey Bren,

Thanks for thee kind words. WordPress is working out great so far. Now its time for us to put in the content to match. Our new goal is for at least 2 quality posts per week.

    Cheers,
    Josh
