May be good for short distances but reviewing it for a 40 mile ride I found it send me in all different directions: 1 block this way, 1 block that way, etc and then would have put me on sunset highway for a mile... scary. It gave me some ideas on how to get where I was going but in the end a paper map found me the nice direct road to get me there. I’ve tried the google walk option too. I've several times gotten poor directions from ridethecity, once the instructions said to turn right (when they should have said left) and I ended up halfway onto the BQE (that was scary) another time the safe route, safest and most direct route all wanted to send me down a number of streets in a complicated route to get someplace that was just down one clear straight bike-path'ed road. Its in its infancy though so I still pop in and check it for travel ideas but I don't trust it for directions yet.
