Interesting “gimmick”, but I don’t think that it’s necessary. It’s along the lines of those saddle guarantees that allow you to try a saddle and return it if you don’t like it. I only hope that the poor retailer isn’t shafted with additional costs by this guarantee. And Bontrager would offer this guarantee because Keith most likely has nothing to do with it, lol.

Siouxgeonz: I’m with you on that score.

I got a set of inverted tread Serfas Drifters for my Giant Yukon. When they were new the rubber was almost “tacky” to the touch and it seemed like they picked up every little bit of gravel on the road and threw it up onto me and the bike.

“Well, I’ll remember that for next time,” I said to myself and resigned myself to just riding them until they wore out.

After a couple of hundred miles, the tackiness diminished and they are simply excellent tires, so I will, indeed, remember it and get another set of Drifters when these wear out!

It is pretty decent — tho’ when I get a tyre that isn’t “right” I *do* just ride it to death and learn.
