Combining the proven ride-ability and reliability of the Uptown with the award-winning NuVinci N360 CVP transmission will make for an even better, fully-equipped commuter that is infinitely fun and infinity practical,” said Joe Breeze, president and founder of Breezer Bikes.

2011 Breezer Uptown Infinity

I’m glad that Breezer is once again taking steps forward before the bicycle industry with the NuVinci 360 CVP. When the company changed hands I was worried that the brand that was, in my mind, an advanced American city or commuter bike would lose its touch or momentum. Now they have introduced the 2011 Breezer Uptown with the newest internally geared system from NuVinci, the 360.

What is the NuVinci 360 CVP?

NuVinci is the internally geared hub released a few years ago, NuVinci calls it a transmission, that utilizes “a set of rotating and tilting balls positioned between the input and output components of a transmission that tilt to vary the speed of the transmission.”

Compared to the NuVinci bicycle drivetrain launched in 2007, the NuVinci N360 model is now over 30% lighter, 17% smaller and has an increased 360% ratio range. Shift effort is significantly reduced even under high pedal forces and there is 50% less twist rotation required to move between the lowest and highest ratios.
