Mike talks about advocacy in terms of supporting advocacy organizations and bike events, but also by actively hoping that his ideas will be copied.
When I first started, my philosophy was that I would make bicycles that would hopefully influence the industry–larger bike companies–to make commuter style bicycles, and to get away from the sport market; into the transportation market. And I feel like I have had some influence in that. I’m happy to see imported bikes that look like mine.
