Interview: Wade Beauchamp of Vulture Cycles – NAHBS 2011

by Josh Lipton

Wade BeauchampI sat down with my old friend Wade Beauchamp of Vulture Cycles to ask him about how things were going with his work as well as finding out his thoughts on bike commuting design.

All the recreation bikes end up being the go-to-store bikes.  Jump on it go downtown.  I built a lot of single speed mountain bikes and they end up being the all-around bike.  I live in Bend [Oregon] now and it’s like Flagstaff [Arizona].  Everybody kind of uses their mountain bike; it’s their car too.  You jump on your bike, go to the bar, go to the store, go to the grocery store, go to your friends house.  But you know we’re working on trying to make it so that bike can be specific too. Park your mountain bike, get on your commuter bike and go do your life.
