This product won't be much use in the rain. Plus it is blocking the speakers on the bottom. Maybe it needs to go back to the drawing board.

Wish you made a prototype that would accommodate a Droid. I'd be in on that.

An iPhone with no contract has one advantage over an iPod: GPS (and maybe the compass?). It sounds like you have little use for an iPhone on your bike, and that's fine, but if you do want to get some use out of it, there are some apps that can be functional in the absence of an internet connection and can still provide useful GPS data. I use MotionX GPS, which allows you to download and save maps to your device. It can track your ride, show your location, tell you your speed, direction, etc. Not helpful on my daily commute, because I have the route down by now, but very useful when I'm exploring. I have done fine without having an iOS device hooked to my handlebars, but I'm sure I'd find use for it if I did have one.

I put an iphone bike mount on my lawn mower handle so I can listen to music while I cut the grass. Yeah, not very safe but oh well. Mine's a different brand, and not easy enough to attach to a shopping cart, that looks like a big plus.
