Lemond Poprad DiscThe cantilever version of the poprad is equally adept at commuting. Personally I think the discs are overkill for a commute, but others like them. However, pre-2008 canti poprads have been known to have shudder problems with the brakes. This may in part be due to the fork, which was aluminium (2008 version appears to be carbon, so this may have been fixed). Switching brake pads to kool-stops and/or switching to a carbon fork has been known to help. Personally, I switched brake pads and it works fine. No need for a carbon fork for the commute for me. It's a fast (well, depending on the engine), comfy (high-end steel), hardnosed commuter.
