Specialized Specialized Allex DoubleI bought this bike built up with Shimano 105 (with an Ultegra rear derailleur) and have been extremely pleased with it for an entry-level road bike. As a commuter, it's not so hot. No eyelets, no clearance for fenders (unless you try something like SKS racer blades), and I don't think you could fit a tire over 30mm. It's been a durable aluminum frame for me, and the carbon fork and seat post are a nice touch. I replaced both stock wheels within the first three years, and I'm super happy with the Mavic Open Pros I use now. The FSA MegaExo bottom bracket also died on me in the first year, but that was covered under the manufacturer's warranty. I eventually swapped the cranks for some compact Shimanos, and I like the closer gearing. I've been pulling a Wike trailer around with it, and it feels solid as a rock. I haven't tried fitting racks to it yet, but I may have heel strike issues from the short stays.
